Invaluable Partners with Van Ham Fine Art Auctioneers to Offer Online Bidding on The Fine Art Auction, Featuring the Life and Art of Carl von Marr

Van Ham’s Upcoming Fine Art Auction on November 13, 2015 offers paintings and drawings from the estate of American-German artist Carl von Marr, along with other important works

The auction is scheduled to take place on November 13, 2015, at 2:00pm CET, and bidders can view the entire catalog and place bids online in real-time on Invaluable, as well as via mobile device using the Invaluable app for iPad and iPhone.

Headlining the auction is the work of artist Carl von Marr (1858 - 1936), who was born to German immigrants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he trained under Henry Vianden, Wisconsin’s most notable artist of the time. He later moved to Germany, where he attended the Royal Academy in Berlin and the Royal Academy of Art in Munich, and remained for the rest of his career. 

The featured works of art by Carl von Marr being offered by Van Ham Fine Art Auctioneers represent fine examples of the artist’s stylistic evolution. Especially important paintings by von Marr being offered at auction include “The Sinking Day” (estimated at €50,000 - €60,000) and “The Painter” (estimated at €20,000 - €30,000). Other notable works by von Marr include “Self Portrait in Work Coat” (estimated at €9,000 - €10,000), “Trudl Standing in a White Dress” (estimated at €7,000 - €8,000), “Angel” (estimated at €3,500 - €4,000) and “The Three Graces” (estimated at  €3,500 - €4,000).
