"Our auctioneer partners are also selling more, both in their traditional auctions and in live auctions online. It’s a very exciting time for all of us, and it’s gratifying to be at the forefront as the industry develops."

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Artfact, the leading live auction software, tools and services provider, said that traffic across its three websites— Artfact.com, AuctionZip.com and Invaluable.com— grew by 70 percent year over year and that annual page views passed the one billion mark. The company also said it has hosted its 7,000th live auction. Live auctions are simulcast events that allow buyers to find auctions around the world and bid for items online at the same time as those on the auction floor.

“With such significant traffic and activity, Artfact has solidified its position as the largest global marketplace for bidders and auctioneers and created the highest standard for live auction websites," said Artfact CEO Adam Kirsch. “Our auctioneer partners are also selling more, both in their traditional auctions and in live auctions online. It’s a very exciting time for all of us, and it’s gratifying to be at the forefront as the industry develops.”

Artfact started its business as a high quality, independent auction price information supplier to art and antiques professionals. It signed its first data licenses in the 1990s with Christie’s and Sotheby’s and launched Artfact.com in 2004. The company acquired U.K.-based Invaluable three years later and then introduced its first live bidding system, Artfact Live, in 2009. One year after that, Artfact merged with AuctionZip.com and launched AuctionZip Live. In the process it brought live auctions to an even broader range of merchandise, including collectibles, art, antiques, real estate, equipment and estate auctions.

“Over the years we have focused on delivering the highest quality data and the best services to an expanding audience around the world. We’ll continue that tradition as we add more innovation and new capabilities to our websites, and welcome a whole new wave of people to the exciting world of live auctions,” said Kirsch.
