    Though it cost a mere £30 ($48) to cobble together, the see-through black slip credited with helping Kate Middleton catch the eye of Prince William could now be worth thousands. The dress, which was modeled by Kate at the St Andrew's annual charity fashion show in 2002, is set to be auctioned off by Kerry Taylor Auctions on March 17th with live internet bidding provided by Artfact.

Asian art and antiques dominated with successful auctions from Doyle New YorkI.M. Chait and Freeman’s accounting for almost $1 million dollars in online sales. Books were another popular category, with more than 700 online bidders registered for Charlton Hall’s Finefrock Collection of Rare Books & Silver and a 62% online sell-through rate during National Book Auctions March 20th sale.

    Auction Takes Place February 23, 2011 with Live Online Bidding

    Artfact Live! partners with Doyle New York to offer live online bidding for the estate of legendary performer and civil rights pioneer Lena Horne on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2pm. Beginning her career on the nightclub circuit, Lena Horne went on to achieve massive critical acclaim as an actor, singer and dancer. She appeared in the films Cabin in the Sky, Stormy Weather and The Wiz, among others, and was considered one of the world’s premier live performers.
