"Lot 5: GAGA, LADY personally worn acrylic finger nail"

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Artfact, the world’s largest online live auction marketplace, announced that it currently has, exclusively at auction, an acrylic nail worn personally by Lady Gaga. The item’s authenticity is guaranteed by the auctioneer, UK-based PFC Auctioneers. The item is a black acrylic finger nail featuring an intricate gold bead pattern that was personally worn by Lady Gaga during her “The Born This Way Ball” tour at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday, September 15, 2012.

Online bidding is now available exclusively through the Artfact websites and will be ending on May 30, 2013 6:00 PM GMT in the UK. In order to bid on this item, simply go to and place your bid according to the site's detailed instructions.

This acrylic nail was personally worn by Lady Gaga during her “The Born This Way Ball” tour in Dublin. The nail was recovered from the stage by a crew member after Lady Gaga finished her performance. The nail is also accompanied by a photograph of Lady Gaga on stage at the event, clearly showing her missing acrylic finger nail from the little finger of her left hand. Also a second photograph showing Gaga wearing the same Aya Fukuda designed acrylic nails at the launch of her perfume in New York the night before her Dublin performance. Also included with this lot are an Aviva Stadium staff handbook, an event crew wristband and a Lady Gaga “The Born This Way Ball” local crew grey t-shirt. In addition, it is accompanied by a letter of provenance from the consignor stating how he obtained the item, including "I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum. When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail."

“As a leading pop icon of our times, a style leader and a highly influential cultural figure on a global scale, this piece of Lady Gaga’s personal style could appeal to both passionate collectors of pop culture relics or one of Gaga’s Monsters - the name she's given to her notoriously loyal fan base,” said Rob Weisberg, CEO of Artfact. “This item is expected to have broad appeal from Lady Gaga’s ardent fans who want something personal for their collection.”

Complete details can be viewed and an auction bid can be made by visiting the title of the lot “Lot 5: GAGA, LADY personally worn acrylic finger nail”. The item’s authenticity and provenance is guaranteed by the auctioneer, UK-based PFC Auctioneers. Other Lady Gaga items have fetched similarly high prices for seemingly mundane personal items. One of Lady Gaga’s teacups sold for £46,500 (or more than $70,200) at an auction in Japan to raise money for artists who suffered following the tsunami that hit Japan in March of 2011.

Artfact’s massive collection also currently has at auction a number of other personal items from some of world’s top music icons and celebrities. These items include a signed Michael Jackson fedora, a two-piece white suit personally owned by Elvis Presley and a personally owned and worn beige corduroy jacket by John Lennon. As the world’s largest live auction marketplace, Artfact and its properties feature rare and collectible celebrity items from around the world.
